Genshin Impact’s recent 3.5 Special Program event has confirmed that the new five-star character Dehya will join the Standard Banner after the update ends. At the moment, there are two types of character banners in the game: the Limited Character Banner and the Standard Banner. The first one usually features one or two five-star characters for a limited period which is approximately 3-4 weeks.
The Standard Banner is a permanent feature inGenshin Impactthat never rotates their character lineup. This banner currently features six different characters: Diluc, Jean, Keqing, Qiqi, Mona, and Tighnari. The most recent addition to this banner was the Dendro bow user Tighnari who arrived at the end ofGenshin Impactupdate 3.0.

Before each new update arrives, developer HoYoverse usually hosts a live stream event that reveals most of the upcoming content. The recently heldSpecial Program for version 3.5has revealed more information about the two upcoming characters, Dehya and Mika. One of the most important details the stream revealed is the fact that the five-star Pyro character Dehya will apparently join the Standard Banner after the next update ends. Many players claim that even though they were excited to pull for Dehya, many of them most likely skip their banner now since there is a chance that they can obtain this character by losing a 50/50 on the limited banner.
The community seems divided by HoYoverse’s decision to put Dehya on the Standard Banner. While some claim that this probably means that her kit will be underwhelming, others praise the fact that thepool of Standard Banner characters is expanding. According to the stream, Dehya will use her Elemental Skill to create a Fiery Sanctum field which unleashes coordinated attacks whenever an opponent takes damage within its effect.
All the active characters will also have their resistance to interruption increased while they are in the Fiery Sanctum. Dehya’s Elemental Burst will make her toss her weapon aside and swap to hand-to-hand combat, dealing massive amounts of Pyro damage with each attack. Her banner cycle will also featurethe Electro polearm user Cynowho was released back in update 3.1.
Unfortunately for many players, the new four-star unit Mika will be placed in the second part of the update which means that it will be much harder to acquire both new characters.Mika will have the ability to heal his party membersas well as provide strong damage buffs which makes him perfectly suited for the support role.
Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
