The originalRed Dead Redemptionwas first released in 2010 and introduced the gaming world to gunslinger John Marston. He remains one of the best andmost tragic Rockstar protagonistsever, and gamers have been obsessed with the character ever since. Despite these successes, there’s no doubt that the original game has aged at this point, so a remaster has been massively requested by the community over the years.

Redditor Plus-Inspection-688 shared the reason that any potentialRed Dead Redemptionremaster would be met with caution by some -Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. This remaster ofGrand Theft Auto 3,Vice City, andSan Andreaswas an enormous disappointment upon release for many reasons. Some even feel thatGrand Theft Auto: Trilogy - Definitive Edition’s launch was more disastrous thanCyberpunk 2077’s, a high bar to clear. The screenshot posted on Reddit pointed out the difference between Denise Robertson inGTA: San Andreasand its remaster, and the results are terrifying. It’s definitely understandable why the existence of the remasteredGTAtrilogy could put offRed Dead Redemptionfans.

Despite the concerns, there’s one massive difference that is worth mentioning.Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Editionwas developed by Grove Street Games, while any potentialRed Dead Redemptionremake would likely be handled by Rockstar itself. If it was announced and was developed by Grove Street Games, alarm bells would certainly start to ring, but until then it should be assumed that Rockstar is in charge of the situation.

While there are plenty of gamers who would welcome Rockstar looking to its past for its next title, there are others who feel thatRed Dead Redemption 3should be next in line for the studio. Given the lack ofGTA 6at the moment, it seems unlikely, but that hasn’t stopped the community from sharing its theories about a potential sequel online. Some think thatRed Dead Redemption 3featuring a brand-new gang would be a mistake. Ultimately, the game is likely so far away yet that any choice about this is yet to be made.
