Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Season 4 Marvel crossover has been its most successful and popular season yet. However, the currentMarvel Seasonis coming to an end very soon.
It’s been known since beforeFortnite’s Marvel crossover began that it was going to end with Galactus. For those unfamiliar, Galactus is one of Marvel’s most powerful villains, and entities in general. The eater of worlds has been sending his agents toFortnite’s map for some time, and his approach has always been on the horizon. Now a countdown to his arrival is officially in-game.

The countdown appeared in-game today, November 21. As of this article, the timer indicates the event will occur onDecember 1 at 1:10pm PT. Presumably the event will be a battle against Galactus, with the hero skins coming fully into play. More than that is still uncertain, butaccording to leakers, it will be huge. On top of that, leakers have also revealed that the event files are already in the game and ready to go, meaning the countdown is likely locked in. The Season will, according to leaked data, likely come to an end two days after the event, on December 3.
This Season ofFortnitehas gone on for a long time, and has brought in a lot of different events and unlockables. The hero and villain skins have been a lot of fun, introducing powers players can use. There have also been new weapons players can get by beating bosses like Dr. Doom or Gatherers. With the Season coming to an end, many of these unlockables may be sunsetting, going away. This could be the last chance tounlock things like the Marvel Nexus glider, so players should take care of any unfinished business quickly.
There will undoubtedly be a lot of player activity on December 1, with tons of players logging on to fight Galactus. For all anyone knows, this will be the only chance to do so. Unless Galactus can be used in thenewly expanded Fortnite Creative update,he may only appear this once.
How much content from Season 4 beyond Galactus will stick around once the Season ends is not clear either. Hopefully some of themore fun features stick around, at least for a little while. Whatever the case, it will be hard for Epic to top this Season, so fans may want to set their expectations a bit lower for a while.
Fortniteis available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
