To start the month of March,Final Fantasy 14revealed both a new mount called the Crescent Moon that players can purchase on its Online Store and the release date for Patch 6.58. The next content update forFinal Fantasy 14is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19, and will address some known issues and bring some balance adjustments to PVP actions.

Although theDawntrailexpansion is still months away,Final Fantasy 14has hosted some events to tide players over until they set sail for the land of Tural this summer. The return of theFinal Fantasy 15crossover event, A Nocturne For Heroes, gave new players a chance to obtain exclusive rewards such asthe Regalia Type-G mountand the ability to dress as Noctis himself, as his outfit and hairstyle can be obtained by completing the limited-time quests and spending MGP at the Manderville Gold Saucer. In addition to theFinal Fantasy 15crossover, the revamped Moogle Treasure Trove event saw players complete various objectives such as ocean fishing and alliance raids to receive Irregular Tomestones of Genesis and items that can be purchased with them.

One week after both theFinal Fantasy 15crossover and Moogle Treasure Trove events end, a new content update will go live inFinal Fantasy 14. On Tuesday, March 19,Final Fantasy 14will launch Patch 6.58, and the update will include a few changes.According to Square Enix, the next update will increase the strength of the Echo buff in Pandaemonium: Anabaseios (Savage), which wasintroduced in Patch 6.57 on February 13. Some adjustments to PVP Job actions will also be included with Patch 6.58, and some known issues and bugs will be addressed. Square Enix stated that further details about server maintenance, and other changes coming in Patch 6.58, will be published closer to launch.

Final Fantasy 14 Releases New Crescent Moon Mount

Patch 6.58 will launch just four days beforeSquare Enix hosts aDawntrailpanel at PAX East in Boston, with game producer and director Naoki Yoshida. In addition to Patch 6.58’s imminent arrival, Square Enix released the Crescent Moon mount on theFinal Fantasy 14Online Store for $24. This mount is account-wide, but it is unable to be purchased as a gift. The Crescent Moon seats just one player and features a loporrit placed next to the player character.

Between these new releases and the early April launch oftheFinal Fantasy 16crossover event,Final Fantasy 14players will have plenty to do in the lead-up toDawntrail. Only time will tell what else Square Enix will do to keep players engaged in the meantime.
