What is Pikmin 3?
Pikmin 3is a real-time strategy puzzle game that first released on the Nintendo Wii U in late 2013. The game is a direct sequel toPikminandPikmin 2, which released on GameCube in 2001 and 2004 respectively, and follows a group of three aliens that land on the mysterious planet PNF-404 in search of food to help fight their home planets ongoing famine. Upon landing on the mysterious planet, each of the aliens discovers colorful plantlike creatures known as Pikmin and the player can use the Pikmin to help with exploration, fighting off dangerous creatures, and to solve puzzles.
There are five different types of Pikmin, each with their own unique abilities: Red Pikmin are great for battle and can withstand extreme heat, Yellow Pikmin can be thrown higher and use rock bombs, Blue Pikmin can swim in the water, Grey Pikmin can be used to destroy tough barriers, and Pink Pikmin can carry objects over water and fight off airborne creatures. Players can control up to 100 Pikmin at once and use each of the different types to carry out different missions.

All the New Content in Pikmin 3 Deluxe
As with most of the “Deluxe” Nintendo Switch versions of Wii U games,Pikmin 3 Deluxeis by far the best way to experience the beloved puzzle game. First of all, when it comes to new content,Pikmin 3 Deluxeis bringing the goods including all previously released DLC,split-screen coop play for the story mode, three new difficulties for story mode, new side-story missions, a prologue and epilogue featuring Captain Olimar and Louie, the return of Piklopedia which was last seen inPikmin 2, and more.
On top of the additional content,Pikmin 3 Deluxehas made a number of quality of life improvements that make the game easier to control and more enjoyable to play. For example, the new Ultra Spicy modeadds more of a challenge by limiting how many Pikmin players can control at one time. New control settings allow players to choose between the stick and gyro controls, a new whistle ability can call nearby idle Pikmin without affecting those on a mission, and the charge option will now only command the type of Pikmin selected rather than sending the whole squad.
