In a new BBC Radio 2 interview, theGame of Thronesstar admitted that his packed schedule has made him a bad husband to his wife, Rose Leslie. When the host brought up Leslie’s recent birthday and asked him if he “spoiled her rotten,” Harington said that they weren’t even going to be able to see each other that week. He admitted on air that they both failed one another this year for choosing work over each other’s birthday. But his funniest reply came when they discussed Leslie’s latest film,Death on the Nile. When the host asked Harington if he had seen it yet, he immediately declared himself a “bad husband” and explained that he was just too busy to make time for it. “I’ll see it at some point,” he jokingly added.
Harington and Leslie first met each other on the set ofGame of Throneswhere they played each other’s on-screen love interests, Jon Snow and Ygritte. They got married in 2018 and had their first son last February, several months before theEternalspremiere. Despite their conflicting schedules, the two have been going strong in their relationship. Harington explained that even though they may not see each other as much as they wish, they still have their baby to keep them focused on what really matters.
With theHouse of the Dragonset to release sometime this year, many fans have been wondering if there’s any chance at all that Harington will be coming back to the series. That seems unlikely given that the prequel will take place 200 years before the events ofGame of Thrones, but fans can hopefully still look forward to his superhero debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Black Knight in the near future.
