It’s been a few months now since the release of Blackwood, the latest expansion pack and fifth chapter in the story ofThe Elder Scrolls Online. Blackwood takes players into the swamps that divide Cyrodiil and the Argonian homeland of Black Marsh. The plot involves the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon’s malevolent plans for the world of Tamriel inThe Elder Scrolls Online.

Along with a new region and a bunch of quests,the Blackwood expansionalso introduced some new Mythic Items. One of these is the Gaze of Sithis, a Heavy Helmet that grants some really interesting bonuses. Like all Mythic Items, the Gaze of Sithis isn’t easy to find, requiring players to utilize both the Scrying and Excavation skill trees.
Scrying for Leads in Elder Scrolls Online
Before players can begin searching for the Gaze of Sithis, they’ll first need to have unlocked the Scrying and Excavation skill trees. These are only available to players who ownThe Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor, and who have completed the introductory quest for the Antiquities system.
The Scrying skill allows players to uses Leads to find fragments of the Antiquity they’re searching for. Only players with the ability toScry Master Difficultyleads will be able to find the fragments of the Gaze of Sithis. The Leads themselves are scattered across the Blackwood area:

Assembling the Gaze of Sithis in Elder Scrolls Online
Once players have successfully Scryed a Lead, they’ll be given an area in which to perform the Excavation. Following the objective will allow players to unearth the five fragments of the Gaze of Sithis, which will automatically assemble itself afterwards.
Like all Mythic Items, the Gaze of Sithis has an incredibly powerful, game-changing set bonus. Specifically, it grants huge bonuses to Maximum Health, Health Recovery, and Armor. However, the Gaze of Sithis also reduces Block Mitigation to 0, effectively rendering Blocking pointless. Because of this, players will have to think carefully when working the Gaze of Sithis into theirESObuild.
