Players of FromSoftware games are known for being able to pull off some impressive feats. Whether it bedefeatingDark Souls 3with a dance pador speedrunningElden Ringin under 10 minutes, FromSoftware’s difficult gameplay only seems to inspire players to make the games even harder. This has been the case for oneElden Ringplayer, who decided to take on Morgott the Omen King at Rune level 1 with just their starting gear.
Morgott is one ofElden Ring’smany bosses but unlike some of the other difficult foes in the game such as Malenia, he is not an optional boss and must be defeated in order for a player to progress the story. While quite the challenge for many players, however, some have taken it upon themselves to make the fight even more challenging by using just a club. While this is not therecommended strategy for players facing Morgott, Reddit user Jim0917 makes the Omen King suffer quite an embarrassing defeat as they fight the boss without much gear at all.

Armed with only the starting club for thewretch class inElden Ring, Jim0917 must be extremely careful to avoid Morgott’s attacks, as taking a hit would be entirely devastating considering their lack of armor. However, after many attempts and a grand amount of skill, the Omen King is brought low by a nearly naked character with a glorified stick. Following some digging into Jim0917’s profile, it seems that Morgott is not the firstElden Ringboss they’ve taken down this way.
Jim0917 has multiple videos of them taking onElden Ring’sbosses with no armor and a club. Before Morgott, Radahn was the most recent boss to face the might of the level 1 character. WithElden Ring’sbosses having set moves that can be learned over time, multiple players have tested their mettle by facing the most difficult enemies with as little gear as possible.Elden Ring’smost famous playerhas made a name for themselves by facing Malenia hundreds of times and soloing the boss in other people’s games.
The “Let Me Solo Her” meme is one ofElden Ring’smost popular running jokes and has led to multiple pieces of art made of both Malenia and the player she fears most in-game. Perhaps, when Jim0917 makes their way through the game with their trusty club, they too can reach the heights of havingElden Ringtributes made based on their exploits.
Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
