Electronic Arts may have decided to pass on E3 2021 and the Summer Game Fest in June to do a show in July, missing out on the hype of such a major event, but now it’s ready to reap the benefits. E3 and the Summer Game Fest have come and gone, with hundreds of games featured across over a dozen events. With those in the rearview mirror, fans look towardEA Play Livefor the next round of major game reveals of the summer, andEAis more than happy to start building up excitement for what’s coming next.

Up until now, all that Electronic Arts has shared about its upcoming EA Play Live event was the date of July 22. It accomplished the task at hand. It confirmed that EA would not be participating in E3 2021 or any of the other June gaming events, while also providing fans ofEA’s gamesa date to look forward to. Now that E3 is over, EA is ready to start providing more information.  To start, EA Play Live’s pre-show will begin at 10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ET on July 22.

The other announcement that Electronic Arts is ready to share is who will be hosting the event. Rather than Greg Miller, who hosted the event in 2019 and 2020, or Andrea Rene, who hosted in 2018, EA is bringing on someone new for hosting duties. That person is now confirmed to be Austin Creed, better known by hisWWE wrestling persona Xavier Woods. Creed also recently announced he’d be hosting a competitive TV show on the newly reformed G4TV channel, so his hosting credentials have clearly risen.

That’s all that Electronic Arts is willing to say about the upcomingEA Play Liveevent for now. It’s still a month away from airing, after all. That’s plenty of time to continue to share new information about the event and the games it plans on sharing.

The most likely game to be shown during EA Play Live this year is, of course,Battlefield 2042. The online multiplayer shooter was revealed prior to E3 2021, but there’s certain to be more to show. An update onDragon Age 4’s development is also highly anticipated. Most exciting, however, is a rumor of a new game resurrecting one of EA’s past popular franchises. Fans speculate it could beDead Space, but EA has a lot of older franchises that would be very exciting to see brought back.

Electronic Arts fans have just four weeks to wait until they’ll see what EA has to announce themselves, whether it beDead Space,Dragon Age 4, or otherwise.EA Play Live 2021will air on July 22 with the pre-show beginning at 10:00  AM PT/1:00 PM ET via online streaming services.
