ADiablo 4player pulls off a genius move that makes light work of one of the most brutal demons in the game, the Butcher. The move takes advantage of the Necromancer’s minions, proving how useful they can be inDiablo 4, even if the player’s character is at a lower level.
Diablo 4is a game with plenty of surprises for longtime fans of the series, including a brand-new story and new demons to slay. But one classic monster has reared its ugly head once more in theDiablofranchise, and that’s the Butcher, an extremely powerful demon that’s guaranteed to ruin the player’s day if they’re not decked out in their strongest gear. The Butcher spawns randomly in dungeons and can appear at any time, no matter what the player’s current level is. This mini-boss will take everything the player has to take it down, and sometimes, it’s best just to run away the second the Butcher spawns.

For Reddit user Geersart, the Butcher turned out to be a piece of cake for the Necromancer’s minions. The 30-second clip posted on Reddit shows the Butcher being backed into a corner and the Necromancer’s minions hacking away at it continuously.The Necromancer’s minions inDiablo 4stand no match for the Butcher’s might, yet it appears as if the demon isn’t fighting back at all. Slowly but surely, the minions chip away at the Butcher’s health until it’s eventually defeated.
During the multiple beta tests for the game,Blizzard was criticized forDiablo 4’sNecromancer minions' lack of durability, as the skeletons would break apart too easily during battle. Now that the game has launched, it appears that those worries are over, as not even the Butcher can break them. In the video, it seems as if the Butcher isn’t programmed to attack the minions in certain situations. An exploit that Blizzard will most likely patch out in a future update.
In the comments for the Reddit post, one user claims to have fought the Butcher four times using the Necromancer and theorizes that the big demon most likely got stuck in a pathing bug. The Butcher will usually ignore the minions and go straight for the player, but once it got stuck in the corner, it didn’t know what to do. One thing’s for sure; this video proves how useful the minions can be in the early levels for a player’s character, making the Necromancer potentially one of thebest builds inDiablo 4for the early game.
