Last year saw the emergence of several remakes of popular games, includingFinal Fantasy 7, Mafia,Tony Hawk Pro Skater,andSpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom.One of the biggest of these reimaginings wasDestroy All Humans,with the iconic alien-action game returning to screens with a significant facelift, smoother controls, and the addition of free roam for each map.
The remake is currently included in Steam’s Midweek Madness promotion, being reduced by 50% for PC players. To celebrate the significant discount,THQ Nordicdebuted what appeared to be an innocuous trailer drawing attention to the reduced price tag. However, the final moments of the footage have left players wondering whether aDestroy All Humans 2remake is now in the works.

Clocking in at 1:32 seconds long, the majority of the ad shows Crypto’s recently re-released adventure, as he pilots his flying saucer, fries human foes, and generally rains chaos down on the game’s various locales. As the trailer wraps up, it cuts to a title card, with Crypto wielding hisdisintegrator raybeside theDestroy All Humansbanner. Seconds later, it becomes clear that the alien protagonist isn’t alone, with a second Crypto appearing from off-screen. The duplicate complains to his doppelganger, asking whether he’s “done yet” and specifically calling him by his name, “Crypto 137.”
Cryptotells his twin to wait his turn, facing the camera and claiming he’s “only getting started.” The second character appears to be Crypto 138, who is a clone of the original protagonist and the playable lead ofDestroy All Humans 2. If viewers needed any more convincing that this is the second game’s central hero, he’s even wearing Crypto 138’s outfit, with the costume featuring heavier armor and neon yellow lighting. His appearance seems to hint that a remake of theDestroy All Humanssequel could be on the cards, especially with the character looking eager to step into the spotlight.
Of course, it’s nothing official, with many also suggesting that this could be a reference to aDestroy All Humans 2skin or perhaps even just a fun joke. For those who didn’t play the sequel, it follows Crypto 138’s adventures 10 years after the explosive conclusion of the first game, with the alien battling against the KGB after they blow up his mothership. It replaced the linear levels ofDestroy All Humans’first outing with open-world sections alongside implementing new guns for players to mess around with. It should make for a fun remake if THQ Nordic is indeed focusing on bringing the sequel back for modern audiences.
