Summary

Bungie has revealed thatDestiny 2’s next reprised raid will release on September 1. This was revealed in the latest This Week In Destiny post, but it didn’t mention whichraid in particular will be returning toDestiny 2.

Bungie introduced the concept of returning raids duringDestiny 2Season of the Splicerwhen Vault of Glass was released, which was also the first ever raid released inDestiny. The next raid to arrive was King’s Fall that launched last year with Season of the Plunder, which is still regarded as one of the best raids of all time. Now, Bungie is gearing up to bring back another raid from the vault and has revealed when players will be able to play it.

Two Destiny 2 content creators suggest a player attempting to world’s first King’s Fall was net limiting.

In the latest TWID post, Bungie revealed that the raid will be playable on September 1, but has still kept the name under wraps. Along with this, the post also mentioned that rules for the Day 1 raid race inDestiny 2will remain the same as King’s Fall, where the contest mode will last for 48 hours and players will also get access to the Challenge mode upon completing it.

The interesting part about these returning raids is that they have no connection to the Seasonal story, which makes it incredibly difficult to predict which raid could come back. As of now, there are seven raids in Destiny 2, out of which King’s Fall and Vault of Glass are reprised raids fromDestiny 1. If Bungie intends to bring back allDestiny 1raids, the returning one could either be Crota’s End or Wrath of the Machine as these are the only ones that remain from the previous game. A leak has already suggested thatCrota’s End is coming back toDestiny 2this year, but it should be taken with a grain of salt since there is no official announcement. The other vaulted raids fromDestiny 2are Leviathan, Crown of Sorrow, and Scourge of the Past, but the community doesn’t think either of these will come back.

If Crota’s End is the one coming back, Crota won’t be the only Hive God returning to the game asSavathun is also coming back toDestiny 2in the near future. Season of the Deep revealed that if the Guardians are to stop the Witness, they will need the Witch Queen’s help in doing so. However, Bungie has clarified that this doesn’t mean that Savathun will become the Guardians’ ally considering she still has a genocidal past which cannot be overlooked.

Destiny 2is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
