A new update posted tohas revealed major progress onDeltarune’s Chapter 3. Within the post introducing itself as a Halloween treat, Toby Fox reveals thatDeltaruneChapter 3 is “content complete"with no more changes expected to dialogue or gameplay. Fox would confirm that, while Chapter 3 was not technically fully finished, many members of the team are already moving to work on Chapter 4. Toby Fox did not confirm a hard release date forDeltarune’s third chapter.
The post would also see Toby Fox share new updates about the game’s intended full release. Fox confirms that, rather than theoriginal plans of releasingDeltaruneChapter 3, 4, and 5 as a set, the team now intends to releaseDeltarunefor purchase ahead of schedule with the completion of Chapter 4. He would cite the desire to release the game sooner as a driving reason behind the shift, with himself and the team not wanting to wait for the “far off finish line” of Chapter 5. Toby Fox would also reveal the team had brought on a new producer to help expedite development for future chapters.
With Chapter 3 reportedly nearly finished and much of the team moving to Chapter 4, Toby Fox’s universal popularity has also seen the developer lend his talents to other franchises. Toby Fox notably worked with Game Freak and The Pokemon Company to create music for bothPokemon Sword and ShieldandPokemon Scarlet and Violet.
