A short tweet featuring monstrous creatures and unnerving environments common to theDead Spacefranchise entices fans to stay tuned to Twitter for a reveal of the remakes' gameplay.Just a few days ago, EA subsidiary Motive Studiosreleased screenshots of the highly anticipatedDead Spaceremake. This, along with digital storefront listings suggested that more teaser content was coming, keeping content-hungry fans satiated until the game’s proposed January 2023 release date. The screenshots revealed the terrifying necromorph and featured Issac’s iconic Plasma Cutter. EA Motive, the studio developing the remake, is known forStar Wars: Battlefront 2andStar Wars: Squadrons. Overall, the studio has been rather quiet regarding the game.
Developer Motive Studioshas said they will honor the legacy of the originalDead Spacegame. For many,Dead Spaceis considered one of the best sci-fi horror games of a generation, meaning that Motive Studios has massive shoes to fill, and they’ve promised a number of enhancements over the original formula.Dead Spacecreative director Roman Campos-Oriola was quoted as saying, “one should rediscoverDead Spacefor the first time, while at the same time finding it familiar and recognizable.” He then promised, “First, we will honor the legacy.”
Two days ago it was announced a trailer for theDead Spaceremake was forthcoming, but it wasn’t until today’s tweet that gamers had a firm time, date, and place to watch the trailer when it goes live. A tweet containing an odd image and initially discussing teaser content was later discovered to be a QR code. Upon scanning the code, users were sent to an Instagram page entitled thebench, which recreates the USG Ishimaru’s comms team. Various nodes on the page were linked with images, as part of an Instagram story. As users unlock each node, more images are revealed, eventually leading to a teaser of the trailer announced today.
The Instagram page suggests that 11 more items are waiting to be unlocked, leading up to the game’s release. According to today’s tweet, tomorrow’s trailer is far more straightforward, and all fans need to do is point their browser to the officialDead SpaceTwitter page.
