Summary
Dark and Darkeris an excellent cooperativedungeon crawler. Solo players can enjoy the game, but it is primarily aimed at small-group play. Using a lobby system, players can form a party in advance, or rely on the automated matching feature to head into a dungeon for some great hack-and-slash combat.
As with almost everymultiplayer gamethat has a class system and skills, some players are able to createbuilds that are overpowered.These are either specialized builds for certain situations, such as 1v1 PvP, or generally overpowered builds that enable the player to steamroll most content. It is possible to design and create such builds inDark and Darker,such as with the examples below.
Simple And Effective
Stats:
ThisFighter class buildforDark and Darkeris incredibly simple, but works so well. It’s overpowered in its ability to solo so much of the game’s content. This is a sword-and-board style build that uses full plate armor and a heater shield. The weapon of choice is the Falchion. A torch and a few health and protection potions complete the gear loadout, while the necessary perks and skills combine tanking abilities with damage output.
Massive Damage Output
TheRanger classinDark and Darkercan be built to deal massive amounts of damage, and is overpowered in the way it drops enemies effortlessly from distance. This build is geared toward just such a result. The Longbow is used to good effect in this build, with an Arming Sword used as a backup melee weapon. The armor is a hybrid set, with a Warden outfit used for the chest, and various other light armor parts elsewhere. A pair of Rings of Courage help to boost stats, with a torch and suitable potions making up the rest of the loadout. Almost all of the perks this build uses are aimed at increasing DPS in some way.
Adding Utility To The Team
A well-built Bard can be a huge boon to any party. The buffs that the Bard class brings to the table inDark and Darkerare extremely useful, frequently leading to an overpowered team. This build is the ultimate buffer Bard. Note that this build doesn’t rely on armor as a core component, so anything will work in the armor slots. The weapons are a Falchion in the main hand, and a One-Handed Crossbow in the offhand. A standard Crossbow is carried in the ranged weapon slot. All the skills and perks for this build are focused on party buffs.
Backstabbing Badness
ThisRogue class buildforDark and Darkerboosts the class' agility as high as possible, overpowering most enemies in seconds. A pair of Rings of Quickness and a Fox Pendant help considerably with this. The necessary armor is all light, and the build dual wields a pair of Kriss Daggers. A pair of throwing knives, some bandages, and health potions complete the gear loadout. All the skills and perks this build relies on are intended to create a classic stealth Rogue, improving damage when emerging from stealth and decreasing the enemy’s detection abilities.
Survivability And Improved Healing
The Cleric is a healingclass inDark and Darker,and this build stacks willpower to ensure that healing is as much as it can be, creating an overpowered Cleric that can survive even the most intense battles. The two Rings of Courage and the Badger Pendant help to boost stats overall. The build’s armor is all plate, with excellent defenses throughout. This is a sword-and-board build (well, a mace in this case), equipped with a Morning Star and Heater Shield. The Cleric’s Spell Book takes up the additional weapon slot. The perks and skills for this Cleric build are split between healing potency, damage mitigation, and damage output in thisrole-playing game.
