After two and a half years,Cyberpunk 2077has hit the “very positive” rank of Steam user reviews. While it was launched to mixed reviews depending on the hardware that PC fans were playing on, a stream of updates has improvedCyberpunk 2077, and Steam reviewers have reflected the change.

Though it was originally released in a buggy state for consoles that was also later rectified,Cyberpunk 2077was always in a relatively playable state on PC. Responding to the initial controversy, CD Projekt Red remained dedicated tofixingCyberpunk 2077with six consecutive months of patches that fixed various bugs. Cyberpunk 2077has reached a Steam very positive ranking based on 546, 333 user reviews, putting the “mostly positive” days behind it.Cyberpunk 2077formerly had this ranking among Steam reviewers, with PC gamers that originally gave it a thumbs-down not always adjusting the grade based on patches that have dropped over the 2.5 years. CD Projekt Red Global Community Director Marcin Momot celebrated the milestone with a tweet thankingtheCyberpunk 2077Steam audiencefor the acknowledgment of the team’s hard work.

Because PlayStation pulledCyberpunk 2077from its shop based on the RPG’s performance in its early days, the storefront wasn’t flooded with as many negative reviews as others. Steam and other PC storefronts kept the game listed because of its better performance on the platform, while Xbox continued to make it available for Xbox One X owners and early Xbox Series X/S adopters. ThePlayStation Store reinstatedCyberpunk 2077in June 2021, which is when the gamer was largely considered fixed by user reviewers. WithCyberpunk 2077players on Steam and other platforms celebrating the CD Projekt Red game, the Phantom Liberty DLC may improve things further when it releases later this year.

One contributing factor toCyberpunk 2077receiving so many positive reviews on Steam may be the frequency that it often gets a price reduction, regularly being a front-runner of seasonal sales. AlthoughCyberpunk 2077has reached “very positive” on Steam, it will still need to get many more thumbs-up reviews to become the coveted overwhelmingly positive. Steam users may have warmed up to the game, butthe Metacritic user score forCyberpunk 2077still only sits at a “mixed” seven out of ten based on 33,421 ratings.
