Over the past couple of days, some of the top names onTwitchhave been checking out a new game available on Steam. Known asCrab Game, many streamers, such as the popular xQcand Sodapoppin, have already begun streaming the unusual title. Unfortunately, things haven’t gone according to plan for many players, including these high-profile streamers.

Recently, gamers have started to report complications with the game, includingproblems with DDOS attacks. The issues have impacted streamers, such as xQc, and have caused DaniDev, the developer ofCrab Game, to take to Twitter to issue a warning to streamers and fans of the game.

In a group of tweets sent by DaniDev, he detailed the issues behind the DDOS attacks. According to the developer, streamers currently should not join public lobbies inCrab Game, as it significantly increases the risk of a DDOS attack. In addition to cautioning players, DaniDev apologized to those that had run into the issue already while playing the game.

Besides cautioning streamers, DaniDev said that he intends to fix the problems regarding DDOS attacks with a future update in a couple of days. In addition, the developer noted that the problem stemmed from the Facepunch Steam P2P networking, the infrastructure the game was built on. According to the developer, this networking “seemed like a fast and good solution. But it is apparently very unsecure, and you can sometimes leak your IP.” Fortunately for fans of the game, the developer is in the process of changing to the “new and more secure” Steam Networking. Furthermore, he noted that the update should hopefully be complete within a couple of days.

Crab Gameis abattle royale type experiencefeaturing cartoonish graphics juxtaposed against deadly survival games. In order to win the game, players must win a series of minigames. Some of the features include support for up to 35 players, along with 28 maps. In addition, the battle royale contains 9 different game modes.

The game has enjoyed reasonably good success since it launched on Steam at the end of October. One of the reasons for this success likely rests with its similarities to theNetflix seriesSquid Game. Released on the streaming service back in September,Squid Game, likeCrab Game, featured a group of contestants that attempt to win children’s games to win a large cash prize.

It will be interesting to see how these DDOS attacks impact the game over the coming days and whether they affect the number of people playing. Hopefully, for those interested in streaming the game onTwitch, DaniDev can fix these problems impacting the game soon.
