Summary
TheOne DnDplaytest is already on its seventh iteration, and it’s implemented various changes to classes like the Cleric. It didn’t receive as many modifications to its core attributes like spell slot amount and proficiency bonuses, unlike other classes. However, it received a rework to one of its signature abilities: Divine Intervention. In the current edition, it lets players call upon their deity for aid, and if they get a d100 roll that’s equal to or below their level, they succeed. Fans wanted this feature to be more reliable, so theOne DnDdesigners added a function that lets players automatically succeed at casting a level 5 (or below) spell. Apart from this change, the class also received other updates, like:
Despite being a replacement,One DnDis meant to be backward compatible withDnD 5th edition. Players don’t need to unlearn the rules they’ve known for over a decade, but the newest edition adds fresh content and changes to its fundamental elements. Therefore,DnD’s designers and developers are using the recent playtests to get valuable feedback that will help them balance and polish the game before its 2024 release.

Some signature Cleric spells also saw some major revisions. A great example is Banishment, which now lets banished creatures do a saving throw each round to escape.
