TikTokstar Charli D’Amelio has held the title of the most popular content creator on the platform, but that may be changing in a matter of days. The popular internet personality known as Khaby Lame is seeing his popularity rise at such a pace that he’s become the next best option to become themost popular performer on TikTok.
D’Amelio has seen her star rise almost nonstop since she first started uploading her videos to the platform. She’s been someone who has routinely shown the big and smallmoments of her life on TikTokand has held a huge following on the site for that reason. While her viewership is a loyal bunch that allowed her to become the first on the service to reach more than 100 million followers, there’s another that is officially challenging her for the title of most popular.

Khaby Lame is continuing his meteoric rise through theTikTokranks after having passed Addison Rae as the second most followed on the platform last summer. He currently has right around 132 million followers and is apparently showing no signs of slowing down.
While Charli D’Amelio still has a slim lead in follower count as of this writing with 136.6 million, it’s the pace at which the two TikTokers are adding followers on theultra-popular site. Khaby is currently picking up an average of around 2.4 million new followers per month. D’Amelio is coming in with a slightly lower total of a still-impressive 2 million new followers per month.
It’s not as though Khaby is pulling off this feat quietly either. In the comments section for the popular TikToker’s videos, his fans routinely recruit people to go out and find more people to follow him with the express purpose of eventually taking over the top spot on the platform. It seems as if that particular approach is working, as Khaby could be holding the number one ranking later this year.
There is of course the chance that D’Amelio’s fans are going to find a way to counter this surge. This isn’t the first time she’s been challenged for the title of most popular creator on the site. It’s also well known thatTikTok popularity can ebb and flowand it’s possible that the comedic antics of Khaby could eventually see a bit of a dip. Just how this particular dual shakes out won’t be known for at least a few months.
