Rumors have been swirling about what formCall of Duty 2020may take, and while fans are still waiting on confirmation, all signs point toCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warbeing this year’s game. A supposed reboot of the Treyarch’sBlack Opssub-series, there’s no solid information on what exactlyCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill entail, but some prominentCall of Dutyseries leakers have revealed some of the maps that will supposedly be coming to the game.

This information comes from TheGamingRevolution YouTube channel and Twitter user LongSensationYT, both of whom are known for their accurateCall of Dutyfranchise leaks. Even though they are generally accurate leakers, fans should still take this information with a grain of salt. At any rate, if the leakers are to be believed,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill feature some classicBlack Opsmultiplayer maps. More specifically, the leakers claim thatCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill feature the classic maps Firing Range, Jungle,Nuketown, and Summit, all of which are held in high regard by theCall of Dutycommunity.

Whether or not this is true remains to be seen, but if so, one has to wonder exactly how these classic maps will be introduced toCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It’s possible that they will all be available in the game at launch, but there’s also a chance that fans will have to wait for them to be added later, as post-launch DLC.Call of Duty: Modern Warfarehas taken the latter approach when it comes to featuring classic maps, and it has also made some dramatic changes to maps that have not been all that well-received.

Depending on the formCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Wartakes, it will be interesting to see ifTreyarchmakes major changes to these maps or leaves them mostly untouched. It will also be interesting to see if anyBlack Ops 2maps make their way into the game, and just what the ratio is between classic maps and new ones.

It’s possible that the shortened development cycle forBlack Ops Cold Warhas played a role in the game getting four originalBlack Opsmaps to fill out its roster, but that’s just speculation at this time. Hopefully theBlack Ops Cold Warrevealhappens sooner rather than later so some of this speculation can be laid to rest.
