Activision has confirmed that it is makingCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer free to play for a limited time, giving players access to a selection of modes and content to give them a taste of what the full game has to offer.
The firstCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warmultiplayer free week starts today and ends on December 21. It gives players access to the2v2 Gunfight mode, which was just added to the game as part of the big Season 1 update. Players can also play the Domination and Team Deathmatch game modes, as well as check out a couple of featured playlists. The featured playlists for the first period ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warmultiplayer free wee are Nuketown Holiday 24/7, a Christmas-themed variant of the popular Nuketown map, as well as Raid the Mall, which features The Pines and Raid maps.

Immediately after the firstCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warfree multiplayer period ends, another one will start up that runs from December 21 to December 24, with different content available. Clearly, the first free multiplayer period is to let fans try traditional multiplayer, whereas the second period is focused on larger-scale game modes and maps.
