There was quite the commotion at the Milan Red Carpet Premiere of Luca Guadagnino’s new cannibal romanceBones and All. Due to the number of fans involved, most of whom appeared to be Timotheé Chalamet super fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the actor, the red carpet event was shut down. The premiere did continue within the walls of the venue.

Chalamet is usually cordial among throngs of fans at his red carpet premieres, but it appears that the crowd was simply too large to handle.

According toVariety, local police had to shut down the red carpet premiere because the crowd had swollen to massive proportions, which represented some serious safety concerns. While the premiere ofBone and Alland its introduction was allowed to go on within the venue, the red carpet was cancelled and none of the film’s actors made their way through the crowd. Chalamet himself did not do any press. He, actress Taylor Russell, and Guadagnino did, however, wave to the crowds from a safe distance on a balcony.

Blood and Allis a cannibalistic romancethat focuses on Meren (Russell) and Lee (Chalamet), two lovers who embark on a road trip across America. It is based on a 2015 novel of the same name by author Camille DeAngelis. The film also features the talents of some high-profile actors such as Mark Rylance, David Gordon Green, and Chloe Sevigny.

The red carpet shutdown highlights Chalamet’s growing fame and popularity. He can easily be classified as a “heartthrob,” as many young men and women have fallen for his charm. His acting ability has also been praised, and his performances in films such asDuneandCall Me By Your Namehave earned him critical praise in particular.Chalamet will next be seen inDune: Part TwoandWonka.

However, the situation also highlightsthe dangers of fan culture. While none of the attendees likely held any sort of ill intent, it’s easy for things to get out of hand when so many people gather in a crowd and swarm to see their favorite actors and actresses. It was probably for the best that the red carpet was cancelled, and perhaps it can illustrate some better precautions for the future.
