The time has come for the drums ofWarcraftto thunder once again. FollowingStarcraft’s2017 remaster andWorld of Warcraft: Classic’s2019 launch,Warcraft 3: Reforgedis the next remake in line. After Blizzard Entertainment’s 2018 announcement,Warcraft 3: Reforgedis finally releasing today globally. The exact time, however, will be staggered depending on players' locations across the world.
Warcraft 3: Reforgedis a remastered version of the originalWarcraft 3: Reign of Chaosand its expansion,Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. The real-time strategy game tells the tale of the Third War, where the mortal races of Azeroth defeated the Burning Legion once again, and the events that followed shortly afterwards. Considered by many fans to be the best entry in the series, the events ofWarcraft 3inspiredWorld of Warcraftstorylines for many expansions such asLegionand iconic characters like Sylvanas are still relevant today. Soon enough, players will be able to relive the conflict through the eyes of Humans, Orcs, Undead, and the Night Elves.

Later today,Warcraft 3: Reforgedwill begin rolling out to different regions starting with California and the West Coast at 3PM PST. The release will continue across North America with a 5PM launch in the Central Time Zones and 6PM EST at East Coast cities like New York. Halfway across the world, Great Britain players can start playing at 11PM BST while Paris and other European nations will begin at 12AM CET on Wednesday, January 29. Following the morning hours, fans in Australia will be able to play at 10AM AEDT. A Blizzard map detailing the global release schedule with all regions is provided below.
With its imminent arrival, players can step back intoWarcraft’sRTS roots by purchasing the standard edition for $29.99 on the Blizzard Store. Alternatively,theSpoils of Wareditionis available for $39.99 which provides the game and cosmetic bonuses forWorld of Warcraft, Overwatch, Diablo 3,and other Blizzard games. Note that the cosmetics also include extra skins for the Far Seer, Archmage, Death Knight, and Keeper of the Grove heroes which turn them intoWoWversions of Thrall, Jaina, Arthas, and Cenarius.
After nearly two decades,Warcraftveterans can finally relive the epic moments that changed Azeroth forever. Likewise, newcomers and more recent fans of the franchise will be able to take a trip back to see the humble beginnings of many important lore figures. Even though this isn’t the fabled Warcraft 4 release that’s been desired for many years, a good reception forWarcraft 3: Reforgedcould very well put that idea back on the table afterthe 2020 release ofWorld of Warcraft: Shadowlands.
