Bizarre occurrences regularly happen in miHoYo’s action RPGGenshin Impactas players explore the vast open landscapes of Inazuma, Mondstadt, Natlan, and more. OneGenshin Impactplayer has discovered a strange detail about Sangonomiya Kokomi that allows the hydro character to “climb” up a mountain uniquely.
Reddit user Crafty-Enthusiasm-43 recently posted aGenshin Impactclip in which they’re exploring what appears to be Inazuma based on a glimpse at its geography. In order forGenshin Impactplayers to reach Inazuma, they have to complete enough in-game challenges to reach adventure level 30 or higher, so they can complete “The Immortal God and the Eternal Euthymia.“Genshin Impact’s Inazumais a zone full of mysteries to discover, including the endless lightning’s ability to ignite wet torches in the area and the ceaseless rain dissipating quickly upon entering the nearby city.

Crafty-Enthusiasm-43’sGenshin Impactvideo begins with Kokomi visually glitching in a way that has the hydro character kneeling with their head forward, while they take baby steps. Somehow, Crafty-Enthusiasm-43 is able to make Kokomi climb up a mountain, unlikeotherGenshin Impactplayersthat have climbed great heights, by utilizing this interesting glitch that sees the character clipping into the structure repeatedly as she rises. TheGenshin Impactvideo has Kokomi’s face almost entirely inside the mountain while climbing, but it concludes before Crafty-Enthusiasm-43 is able to reach the top, which may suggest that the character was limited from going too far.
Several mountains dot theGenshin Impactmap and players can climb them to observe the surrounding landscape without using any maneuvers like the ones used in Crafty-Enthusiasm-43’s video. There areGenshin Impactcollectibles called electroculus that can be found all around the Inazuma map, and some are located at the top of such mountains, suggesting that miHoYo intends for players to climb some of the massive obstacles. Although it’s likely thatGenshin Impact’s Kokomiisn’t intended to climb mountains the way she does in Crafty-Enthusiasm-43’s video, it’s currently unclear if the mountain could be traversed using alternate methods.
Since posting theirGenshin Impactclip, Crafty-Enthusiasm-43 has reached over 9,000 fans that almost entirely label Kokomi’s actions as “griddy.” SomeGenshin Impactplayers utilized the opportunity to mention another glitch in the past that resulted in Kokomi swimming through the air and walking on water, while there may be even more glitches like it that remain undiscovered. OneGenshin Impactfan noted a similarity between Crafty-Enthusiasm-43’sGenshin Impactvideo and a mythological tale from China that sees a carp turning into a dragon, a story that has been referenced in the past with things likePokemon’s Magikarp.
Genshin Impactis available now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
