BioShockfans have been waiting a decade to play franchise creator Ken Levine’s next game, which we now know will be out sometime between now and March 2025.Ken Levine hasn’t released a new gamesince 2013’s critically-acclaimedBioShock Infinite, but he finally revealed his new project at The Game Awards 2022 to be aBioShock-style sci-fi first-person shooter calledJudas.

TheJudasreveal trailerwas impressive, showingBioShock-style gameplay with cutting-edge graphics.Judasmay not be a newBioShockgame, but it looks like it will scratch the same itch. BetweenJudasnd theBioShock 4game that’s in development, it seemsBioShockfans have a lot to look forward to in the years ahead. Unfortunately,Judasdoes not have a set release date at the time of this writing, but fans now know when they can expect it by at least.

Speaking to IGN,Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnickconfirmed thatJudaswas one of the company’s 87 games that the company plans to release between the current fiscal year and fiscal year 2025. This means thatJudaswill be available by March 2025, barring any release date delays. However, Zelnick said to IGN that he does not think a release date is going to happen. While Zelnick acknowledged that release date delays can always happen, he said, “We feel really stable right now. […] I’m optimistic about delivering great titles to the marketplace on an ongoing basis.”

Not much is known aboutJudasbeyond what was revealed in its initial trailer, but fans should be treated to more trailers, gameplay reveals, and more in the months and years ahead. The frequency of these updates will likely depend on exactly whereJudasis going to release in Take-Two’s 2023 to 2025 forecast. If it’s closer to March 2025, then fans may be waiting quite a while to get an update on the project.

WheneverJudaslaunches, one has to imagine that Take-Two will make sure it’s spaced out from its other major releases that are on the way. Take-Two will likely not want to overshadow any of its upcoming games by releasing them too close to theGrand Theft Auto 6release date, for example, and it may especially want to make sure that theJudasrelease date is nowhere nearBioShock 4either.

AssumingBioShock 4is similar to the previous games, it will likely have a lot in common withJudasas well. Releasing two games that are similar in style so close together could make them cannibalize each other’s sales, which wouldn’t be good for either game. SinceJudashas actually had a reveal trailer, though, it’s highly likely that it will launch well beforeBioShock 4, which has not been shown to the public yet in any capacity.

Judasis in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
