Sitcoms are a highly popular genre. Unlike drama shows, they usually have a shorter runtime, around 20 to 30 minutes, which makes it easier to watch an episode in one sitting or binge-watch the whole series at once. They also allow the audience to laugh no matter where they come from because humor is in many ways universal.
