Summary

Coral Islandis one of the latest and greatestcozy farming simulator titlesto be released in 2023. With the game being in early access for a while, many players have been able to prepare fully and plan what crops would be best to grow on their farmland.

However, new players may question what seeds are the greatest to purchase first and invest in, so they can make a profit and eventually save up for other things. While it is possible to upgrade the quality of the seeds a player uses on their farm, this article will only focus on the base seeds and their prices without how they can be improved by Lab upgrades.

1Wild Seeds

Any Season

Wild Seeds are a great investment for any player’s farm and what makes them even better is that players don’t even need to pay for them. When the player uses their scythe on grass and weeds or digs at the ground with their hoe, there is a small chance of them being given a wild seed.

These seeds can be grown during any season and are a great way of growing anextra assortment of crops. These seeds will then grow into a few of the seasonal crops that are available during that season. While the player may have no control over what grows, it’s still an excellent way to make some extra money. Due to the random nature of Wild Seeds, players cannot track the specific amount of time it will take for these crops to grow.

Few plants grow during winter, though one that players will want to invest in early has to be the flower known as Snowdrop. This flower takes 12 days to grow and can only be picked once. However, the only way to grow this is to unlock aTown Rank of C.

Once a player is able to control what seeds they plant during this cold time, Snowdrop is by far one of the greatest to purchase. The crop itself already makes quite a profit or the player can make even more by handing the white flower to their bees to create Snowdrop honey instead.

Coffee Beans are another potential moneymaker that sells better when transformed into an artisan product instead of a simple coffee bean. Naturally, with the right tools, once the beans have grown in 11 days, they can be put into a keg to then be transformed into coffee. Unlike some seeds, Coffee Beans will continue to regrow every 2 days for more coffee results.

Coffee Bean Seeds are another that players will not be able to instantly buy when starting the game and will need to reach Town Rank D before these seeds will be available in Sam’s General Store during summer.

Like Coffee Beans, grapes are a crop that players can plant early and continuemaking a profitfrom throughout the season because the plant will automatically regrow. Once planted, players will be harvesting grapes after 9 days with more grapes growing on the vine after another 6.

Grapes can then be processed into Grape Jam, Wine, or even Grape Juice for a much better profit than what would be given by simply selling the grapes on their own. Once again, players will only be able to purchase grape seeds from Sam’s General Store once they have achieved a Town Rank of D.

Soybeans take only 8 days to grow fully and can then be harvested repeatedly every 4 days. This allows players to dedicate large fields to creating multiple Soy Beans that can then be sold in bulk every spring, which is usually a busy time for players as this season has the most available crops to grow.

While needing a Town Rank of E to purchase these seeds, players can then process their grown soybeans in a Mason Jar to make Tempeh or a Cheese Press to make Tofu in the hopes of making even more of a profit from their beans.

While many of the other seeds mentioned require the player to increase their Town Rank, players would be happy to know that Cranberry seeds can be purchased as soon as the player has reached Fall. While players are likely to have fields already growing with certain crops, Cranberries are another great option that can have multiple harvests.

Firstly, to fully grow the crop only takes 5 days, then it will regrow Cranberries every 2 days. This fruit can then be turned into a jam or a juice to make a further profit, though anything higher than the base value will alsogive the player a bit of money.

Joining soybeans as one of thebest crops to grow in springis Sugarcane. Players may have to wait until they have reached Town Rank D to purchase the seeds to make this profit, but once it’s finally available they won’t want to grow anything else.

Taking 5 days to grow and then being available to harvest every other day after picking it makes sugarcane one of the fastest-growing crops available to players. Although it doesn’t naturally sell for a profit, players can then turn this sugarcane into sugar, cane nectar, or syrup to make back some cash spent on purchasing the seeds in the first place.

8Hot Pepper

Summer And Fall Only

Out of all the available seeds to purchase inCoral Island, by far the best of the bunch is the early addition of Hot Peppers. These seeds can be first purchased in Summer and Fall and therefore can be sown early into the first season to be picked throughout both of them.

Hot peppers take 7 days to grow but can then be picked every 3 days. Players can have multiple fields of these seeds to make a hefty sum of money. These can then be turned into Hot Pepper Juice or Kiracha for some extra money or even used invarious cooking recipes.
