Battlefield 2042’s official release has finally come, and despite the negativity surrounding the game, some players are still managing to find innovative strategies and tricks to gain an edge in battle. One player managed to find a nearly foolproof method of remotely healing other players.
EA and DICE releasedBattlefield 2042mere days ago, and fan reception has proven incredibly mixed, with an overall perspective that the game removes too much from the previous iterations in the series. Updates are already planned and being worked on, but the buggy launch is leaving many players disappointed with the game and EA.

A trick demonstrated by Redditor ArchieBuld combines mechanics in a possibly unintended way; when a medical crate is thrown onto Casper’s drone, the drone will carry the medical crate wherever it flies. Contrary to theusual direct confrontation inBattlefield 2042matches, this can be used to remotely heal teammates without risking the drone pilot’s life, and the video clip the trick is showcased in proves it can work in a variety of situations.
Healing teammates inBattlefield 2042can be difficult to accomplish without risk, as in most cases players need to be close to each other to transfer supplies. The ability to remotely heal teammates with such ease could make all the difference in an intense battle, especially since the player being healed does not even need to be within line of sight of the drone pilot.
The mechanic, unfortunately, appears to be an unintentional side effect of imprecise collision boxes and unrefined medical crate physics, further reinforcing fan narrative thatBattlefield 2042could have been better if delayed. Under normal circumstances, having items without precise physical simulation would not be a problem; however, if realistic movement force were acting on the medkit it would fall right off the drone, to say nothing of how the drone’s propellors clip into it. It is unclear whether DICE will somehow patch this out, but since it is such a unique and interesting mechanic, perhaps the developer will figure out a way to balance it and incorporate it into the game properly.
Player creativity reigns supreme in gameplay, and if there are quirks or hidden elements of a game with a large playerbase, then it will probably be found eventually. Developers often hidesmall easter eggs in gamesto reward attentive players, but even unintended exploits can be exciting. Replies to the drone video clip mention other players using the drones to carry explosives, and it remains to be seen what else players will use the tool for.
