AZack Snyder’s Justice Leagueactor may find a new home at theMCUnow that the DCEU is officially defunct, and this particular actor already has experience playing a Marvel character.

Snyder’s DCEU was intended to involve a multi-film storyline featuring Henry Cavill’s Superman, Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller’s The Flash, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, and several other DC characters. While a handful of those films were produced, the underwhelming box office performance and mixed reception to the DCEU prompted Warner Bros. to abandon Snyder’s planned story arc and eventually dump the DCEU altogether by starting fresh withJames Gunn’s upcoming DCU projects, hoping to find similar success as theMCU. Now,one of thoseJustice Leagueactors is rumored to be eyed by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Daniel Richtmanreports thatAffleck has been in talks with Marvel Studios to join the MCU. While Affleck famously played Daredevil in the eponymous character’s 2003 feature film,Ritchman says he won’t reprise his role as the Man without Fear inDeadpool and Wolverine, which will feature several characters from Marvel movies that pre-date the MCU. Details on what MCU project or role Affleck would potentially take on were not provided, butit would reportedly be a different Marvel character.

Online reports claimed Affleck was spotted on theDeadpool and Wolverineset last summer, sparking rumors that his version of Daredevil would be one of the film’s many cameos. ConsideringJennifer Garner’s Elektra reportedly joined theDeadpool 3cast, an appearance by Affleck’s Daredevil wouldn’t be far-fetched. Of course, Affleck’s brief time as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen was not well-received. Even Charlie Cox, who plays the character in the MCU, admitted he is not a fan of Affleck’sDaredevilmovie. So, Affleck may have no interest in revisiting the character.

DCEU fans who want Warner Bros. to produceAffleck’s canceled Batman moviemay not be thrilled by the idea of the actor moving on to the MCU. However, Warner Bros. has decided to move on, and it’s not unreasonable for Affleck to at least hear what Marvel Studios may have to offer. Although the DCEU has its fair share of critics, Affleck’s performance as Batman was generally well-received, and he’s also proven himself to be a talented actor in other roles. So, the MCU would be lucky to have Affleck.

Still,Affleck’s time as Batman was reportedly difficult, so he may not want to try a third attempt at playing a comic book character. Of course, Marvel Studios could offer Affleck a villain or civilian role, meaning he likely wouldn’t have to don another costume. This would be a change of pace for Affleck, at least as far as his comic book roles go, and might be enough to entice him to theMCU.Still, this rumor should be taken as such until official sources confirm or deny the news.
