An unfortunate event the player might encounter while playerBaldur’s Gate 3is a dead Halsin in his prison cell. This can be problematic, as the player needs to talk to him to progress.
Thankfully, for players going through this, it is still possible to get to talk to him, but in another way.
Who Is Halsin?
Halsin is an extremelyrelevant character inBaldur Gate’s 3Act 1. He went missing after an expedition with Aradin. Because of that, the player can undertake the “Rescuing the Druid Halsin” quest when exploring the Emerald Grove as he is said to potentially be able to cure the player from their parasites.
Halsin can also potentially be recruited as the player’s companion if everything goes well with him. As such, the player has to side with the Druids. However even then, the player hasto wait until Act 2where they will have to wake up Art Cullagh to speak with Halsin, and then he’ll join the player as a powerful Druid.
Where To Find Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3?
The player will find Halsin as they progress through the story, specifically, when they have to head to the Goblin Camp and enter the Shattered Sanctuary. As the player goes deeper there, they will be able to find a room,right before Minthara’s, that leads them to a prison.
Down there, the player will possibly have to fight against some Goblins before reaching Halsin. There, they will be able to free him and he will give the player important information needed to access Act 2. Sometimes, Halsin just returns to the Grove too if the player kills the goblin leaders.
Sometimes, the player might arrive at the prison and upon opening the prison cell, find Halsin’s dead body lying there. This is problematic, as, if he is dead, he will be rendered pretty much useless.
In this case, the player will have to make use of Speak With Dead, a level 3 necromancy spell. The player can access this spell in multiple ways. They can use it if they simply have it, thanks to their class, or they can make use of the Amulet Of Lost Voices. Either way, this will allow the player to extract essential information from Halsin that would’ve otherwise been lost with him.
