Developed with heavy input from players and modders, the game has attracted a loyal following since it debuted and has received plenty of praise for its realistic take on some of the conflicts seen in Italy and North Africa during the Second World War.

8Use Tactical Pause
While simple enough, the Tactical Pause mechanic is one that’s criminally underutilized by many players inCompany Of Heroes 3; in fact, many don’t even know that it exists (this is a commonbeginner mistake in the game).
Tactical Pause can be used by simply pressing the spacebar in-game. This will pause the action, and players can select units and get an overview of the action as things stand. This feature is incredibly helpful for planning and strategy, as well as if players are thinking of changing their approach to a particular battle or encounter. It basically can’t be used too much.

Being able to loot weapons and other items from fallen enemies is a staple mechanic in games from a variety of genres. And, something that many people don’t seem to be aware of inCOH 3, is that the title also allows players to loot gear from foes once they’ve been taken out (conversely, some players may be aware of this mechanic, but definitely don’t use it as much as they should).
For one thing, looting enemies can be a quick way to stock up on much-needed supplies, which can be difficult to make time for in the later stages of a battle, even when usingthe best battlegroups in the game. This is such a great tip to implement.
5Use Tanks As Cover
Using cover is a crucial part of successfully navigating combat inCOH 3, but it isn’t always that easy to come by. Fortunately, there are plenty of workarounds for this; one, in particular, is using tanks as a source of cover for infantry on the battlefield.

The advantages of doing so should speak for themselves. Tanks are difficult to take out, mobile, and large enough for multiple soldiers to shelter behind them without issue (the Deutsches Afrikakorps faction has especially good tanks). So, if players are struggling to find cover for their units but have a tank handy, they should consider using this tactic.
4Save Time With The Game’s AI
One great feature ofCOH 3is how intelligent and effective the game’s AI can be at times. This is something that players can use to their advantage to save themselves time to put towards managing other aspects of a battle, which can, at times, make all the difference in the world.
An example of this would be the light gun units in the game. Players have the option to set these up prior to firing, but this is actually not necessary; light gun units will automatically fire on enemy units within their line of sight. This is especially useful when combined withthe British Forces faction, due to its specializing in light guns.
3Get An Achievement By Collecting All Soldier Stories
Something that theCompany Of Heroesfranchise is known for is humanizing soldiers on the battlefield and truly telling their stories in an authentic, realistic way.

This is something the developer has retained inCOH 3; one example of this is the game’s Soldier Stories, which are displayed on loading screens before players enter a campaign. And, if the player views all of these, they’ll actually be awarded the achievement ‘Lest We Forget.’ This is something that plenty of players are unaware of, but is worth knowing for anyone planning on trying to unlock all the achievements inCOH 3.
2Make Vehicles Reverse
Driving and moving vehicles around inCompany Of Heroes 3can be a tricky affair at times, even thoughthe game features a number of awesome trucks, tanks, and cars to choose from. This is especially true on uneven terrain, and, unlike inCOH 2, vehicles inCOH 3won’t automatically reverse when instructed to move, even if reversing is the quicker or more direct way to reach their destination.
Fortunately, players can get around this by deliberately instructing vehicles to reverse, rather than to simply move. This mechanic is something that some players seem to overlook, but it can save precious seconds in the heat of battle when they really count.
1Use Medical Trucks To Reinforce Infantry
Medical trucks are easily one of the most valuable and important units inCOH 3, especially when it comes to healing infantry units. But, their value goes beyond this; medical trucks can also be used to provide reinforcement to infantry in battle (which is especially worth doing forthe game’s best infantry units).
This is a great way to protect one’s infantry and get them out of sticky situations by offering some improvised support if needed. While players probably won’t want to rely on doing so in lieu of good tactics and strategy, it can be an absolute lifesaver when used in the right situations.
