The world ofAtomic Heartis full of giant, terrifying mutants and mechs, but even the most seemingly invincible enemies have weaknesses. In addition to the hordes of charging, rolling and flying evil robots throughout Facility 3826, there are a few bosses which will require more than brute force to overcome, and cannot be outrun in the same way that other enemies in the game can.
Each enemy has their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as creative and haunting designs. Upon seeing them, many players will first wonder if it is possible to kill them at all. The enemies are encountered at various points throughoutAtomic Heart’s main story, sobe aware of spoilers ahead.

7Large Mutant
One of the first bosses P-3 will encounter is the Large Mutant in the Valivov Complex. What makes this boss particularly challenging is the fact that he does not fight alone. He carries a sprout-nest on his back which continually produces mutant sprouts that can both attack andrevive human corpses, turning them into mutants. The walls in this area are also lined with sprout-nests, meaning players will be facing a high number of enemies and a boss at the same time unless they destroy them. The area contains a small rail-cart which the player can vault over, and this can provide distance from the Large Mutant and enable the player to take out the lesser enemies first.

As for the boss himself, the shotgun works best, though he is also vulnerable to energy damage. The glowing orange targets on his back will score critical damage if hit, so it is often wise to allow him to charge, then dodge to the side and target the exposed back before he can re-adjust.
6Hedgie
One of the most terrifying video-game bosses in recent memory, this high-speedwrecking ballhas a variety of abilities for players to stay wary of. This boss appears on the surface when players have entered the Atomic Garden via zipline. Typically, this robot will attack by curling up in a ball and hurting toward the player at high speed, causing significant damage as well as a knock-down effect, which can cost valuable time. This is best avoiding by using the dodge function, or by using Shok to activate the various pillars scattered around the Atomic Garden, which will then raise platforms that act as mines to the Hedgie.
In addition to this, he has a jump attack which produces a radial attack that spread across the floor. This can be avoided by jumping with correct timing. The Hedgie can also fire slow-moving fireballs, which can beavoided without the use of the dodge function, and a magnetic ability which draws the player in close range and is countered by shooting. At various intervals, and when struck by mines, the Hedgie will expose glowing orange cores as it overheats. Target these with P-3’s strongest weapons to inflict maximum damage.

5Plyusch
ThisLovecraftian horrorwill be encountered in the lower levels of the VDNH, the second major facility visited by P-3. With alarming elasticity and agility, Plyusch uses its long limbs to attack from range, which can knock the player down if they connect. It will also use a variety of jumping, swinging and thrusting melee attacks delivering high damage.

This boss is particularly vulnerable to melee damage due to its lack of armor, and the large open space in which it is encountered provides lots of room for maneuverability. Fire damage is also effective if fire cartridges are equipped in any ranged weapons. The Frostbite and Polymer Jetglove abilitieswill be particularly useful on this opponent compared to energy or electronic based weapons and abilities. The weakest points to aim for on the Plyusch are its heart, head, and back, which can be difficult to locate given the creature’s appearance.
4MA-9 Belyash
The Belyash is a very fast, very toughmechanized boss. P-3 encounters the Belyash in Chelomey at the start of the game, where it is being used for the harmless purpose of star projection. However, when it is encountered later at the Art Exhibition, it has turned hostile.
Despite its appearance, the Belyash is still able to attack from range in much the same way as the Hedgie: by pummeling the ground and sending out a shockwave if it connects with the player. It also utilizes a sequence of swiping attacks, which can cause high damage if P-3 gets too close. In addition, the Belyash can use its Polymer emitter to create a flamethrower-like attack which can be avoiding by circling to its flanks. Shok can be utilized to great effect in order slow down this boss, as well as the Polymer Shield for any attacks that cannot be dodged.

3Natasha
This giant unit of a robot will attack P-3 during the Theater segment of the main story. Despite its large and clunky appearance, the boss can move with surprisingly agility thanks to two giant rockets attached to its back. The main attacks to avoid are its extendable arms, which can thrust and smash if the player gets too close. The robot also uses a spinning attack, which can cause massive damage if it lands. Natasha can also fire missiles from its back, and therefore offers a variety of both ranged and melee attacks to be aware of.

The most vulnerable points to target are the jets located on the robot’s back, and the most effective weaponry will be anything withexplosive damage. Weapons with a high rate-of-fire will also be preferable, as these can be used to shoot rockets out of the air and sustain a high damage output. The Shok ability will also work to stall Natasha in the same way as the Belyash.
2Dewdrop
The Dewdrop will be encountered en route to the Lighthouse, following P-3’s exit of the Pavlov Complex. Formerly used as a mining robot due to its versatility and powerful industrial laser, this terrifying boss will charge around using itsmultiple appendages, which it can also use to hurl projectiles. The laser attacks will come in the form of either a focused beam or a scattered attack, so it is worth waiting to see which attack is coming before committing to a dodge. Fortunately, in this location there is a large dead whale that can be used for cover.
The Dewdrop is most vulnerable just after firing its lasers, when its single cyclopic eye can be targeted. The Shok ability is most useful against this boss, who will crumple to the ground temporarily when struck with it, giving the player a chance to target the eye and inflict bursts of critical damage. The Fat Boy will also inflict heavy damage on Dewdrop, but these shots have to be timed well due to this boss’s agility and movement speed.

1The Twins
Sechenov’s “ballerina” twins, whom P-3 encounters in the opening mission, are the final and hardest bosses in the game. Each has slightly different abilities, but both are extremely agile and will be difficult to hit with small-arms weapons. They are encountered in two phases, both in the Sechenov Highrise lobby and in the main glass room with the decorative airplanes. The first twin, “Left,” uses whip-like laser weapons which have to be dodged or jumped over, as well as electronic plasma discs which she hurls likeshuriken stars. The second twin, “Right,” spends a lot of time levitating, and uses a glove similar to P-3’s Char-les in order to grab and throw projectiles from range. When combined, they can form a laser-matrix, which is incredibly dangerous and must be avoided by jumping and careful movements.
The “Mass Telekineses” ability can be used if only small-arms are equipped, but the Fat Boy missile launcher will be most effective as it can stun-lock both of the sisters. The best time to attack is right as the sisters begin power up their attacks, and players will need to move from side to side and dodge a lot in order to avoid their myriad ranged attacks.
