Summary
FromSoftware released the 1.04.1 update forArmored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. The developer’s latest patch went live less than a month aftertheArmored Core 6update 1.04rolled out.
Following a decade-long hiatus, FromSoftware returned to its mech ARPG series this August, whenArmored Core 6released to glowing reviewsacross the board. Since then, the Japanese studio turned to fine-tuning its latest title, averaging almost one update a week until early October. The 1.04.1 patch is the game’s sixth such release to date.

The newly introduced update debuts balancing changes affecting 10 weapon units and 13 frame parts in total. Looking at the former category, one of the biggest benefactors of this patch is the IA-C01W2 Moonlight Light Wave Blade, which received a buff to its charge attack power and a reduction of its Cooling start timer, allowing it to start dissipating heat sooner. The Vvc-703PM and Vvc-706PM Plasma Missile Launchers also received some notable improvements, having been treated to Weight and EN Load reductions. AnotherArmored Core 6weaponto receive a straight buff with this update is the MA-T-223 Kyoriku Jamming Bomb Launcher, which now boasts a decreased Charge time.
As for the armor changes introduced in this patch, the single biggest buff was reserved for the RC-2000 Spring Chicken Reverse Joint, which received boosts to its AP and Load Limit, as well as the defense stats against Kinetic, Energy, and Explosive damage. Six pairs of AC arms got their Melee Specializations buffed, grantingArmored Core 6players increased Attack Power while using melee attacks, while two were also treated to an EN Load decrease, making them less cumbersome to equip.
Overall, the 1.04.1 update forArmored Core 6appears to be largely focused on buffing the equipment that hasn’t seen much use since the game’s release. The patch itself is also fairly light on changes, even compared to the game’s previous minor updates. For example, the1.03.1 version ofArmored Core 6packed 50 balancing adjustments, more than double of what this new release contains, as well as over half a dozen bug fixes. The latter aren’t mentioned in the 1.04.1 changelog, suggesting this patch is purely balancing in nature.
The new update is now available for download across both PC and the last two generations of Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Much like the past patches for the game, installing the 1.04.1 update is a requirement for accessing theArmored Core 6multiplayer.
