Among Ushas become the latest indie game phenomenon of 2020. The game of social deduction has become one of the most-watched games on Twitch, as streamers join together to see who is best at tricking their friends into mistakes. Fittingly,Among Ushas drawn the attention of creative gamers, putting together all manner of fanart, memes, and more. There’s perhaps no better example of whatAmong Usis all about, or at least what fans thinkAmong Usis about, than a new video crossing the game over withAce Attorney.

The video places the characters ofAmong Usinto the roles of anAce Attorneycourt case. Specifically, Blue takes on the role ofPhoenix Wrightwhile Red takes on the role of prosecutor, with Black, Yellow, and other characters filling in as various character witnesses. Brown has been murdered, and it’s up to the rest of the players to figure out who murdered them so as to protect the rest of the crew.

Among Usplayers will likely see the video as a dramatized example of what happens in a typical round ofAmong Us. There’s are accusations, which leads to testimony, in which characters can perhaps be caught in a lie. Sometimes an accusation is just manipulation from the Imposter, while other times accusations can lead to a breakdown of a ruse and thereveal of an Imposter.

What really brings together this piece of fan-made video is the quality, of course. It doesn’t just capture a perfect conversation inAmong Us, but it also wonderfully animates an action-packedAce Attorneycourt case. The way theAmong Uscharacters' floating hands and space masks are used to captureAce Attorney’s characters' animations is particularly noteworthy. IfAmong Usdeveloper Innersloth wanted to do acrossover with Capcom, it’d likely be worth it.

But even beyond the animation of the video, there’s something special. It’s that the good guys winning is so rarely captured inAmong Usfanart. Most memes and jokes forAmong Usall feature theImposterpersuading the crew to launch a crewmate through the airlock. And where the crewmates are made to act logical and intuitive in the video, memes mostly represent players as aloof, irrational, and quick to believe lies. Players will have to decide for themselves which version would be more accurate.

It just goes to show that a game likeAmong Us, released in 2018 and now popular in 2020, along with anearly 20-year-old franchisedwindling in popularity due to no recent releases, can combine to create something special. And it’s all because of how amazing the online gaming community and content creators can be.
