Destiny 2streamer Ekuegan is fighting to clear their name after Bungie’s accused them of leaking crucial information about the game’s future updates and trajectory. Following the accusations, Bungie banned theirDestiny 2account, which has now become the center of controversy in the community.
Bungie recently held a confidential summit, where it invited several notable members of theDestiny 2community, and Ekuegan was one of them. This annual summit became a norm since the first one in 2018, where Bungie showcased plans for the game’s future, and took feedback from these invitees to improve the player experience. However, the latest one quickly became the talking point in the community after several leaks aboutDestiny 2’s future updates and seasons surfaced online. Bungie reportedly believed Ekuegan to be the alleged leaker and decided to take drastic measures. However, it seems that there was another side to the story as Ekuegan is doing everything to prove their innocence in the matter.

The Twitch streamer took to Twitter to express their disappointment and wrote, “All I know is, that company made a huge mistake and I will clear my name. I am working on it, Don’t worry < I see the real ones on the tags. My head is held high, I had a nature day today and man getting off the internet felt great.” Bungie didnot publicly name or accuse theDestiny 2streamer Ekuegan, which could be why they didn’t mention the developer in the response. Ekuegan even shared a screenshot of their Twitch channel that showed the 19,000+ hours ofDestiny 2streamed, to prove that they had no incentive to do so.
Several popular streamers and community members have addressed this situation, where they criticized the leaks, but don’t believe Ekuegan did it. Popular streamer Datto said how Ekuegan has been a pillar for theDestiny 2community and that Bungie should look closely into the matter before taking such drastic steps. Azetcross, another fellow streamer, mentioned how Ekuegan gave valuable input at the summit and was agreat resource for theDestiny 2community.
As of now, Ekuegan has decided to step away from streaming till this situation is resolved. Although, upon being asked if they would forgive Bungie in case they apologized appropriately, they responded with a vague “We’ll see,” which means there could be more news on this in the days to come. Bungie has always valued itsDestiny 2community and also acknowledges its mistakeswhen it is at fault. However, since both parties have strong points to make here, it is difficult to predict when this matter will be fully resolved.
