Nemesis

One of the most iconic villains of theResident Evilfranchise, and one that definesResident Evil 3in particular, the Nemesis will of course be making his return. The Nemesis inResident Evil 3will have a slightly new look, though, which may take some getting used to.

Even more importantly, theNemesis' improved AI inResident Evil 3will showcase a much more frightening and intelligent villain than the one in the original, as it will be lurking the city streets ofResident Evil 3 Remake’sUmbrella City stalking the player and members of the S.T.A.R.S. It’s also worth mentioning that the Nemesis was created by infusing a regular Tyrant with an engineered parasite capable of taking over the Tyrant host’s brain in order to give it superior intelligence in taking directives from its human superiors in Umbrella. If rumors are true, there may be even more backstory anddeeper information on the Nemesisand its creation or identity. This would be welcoming given that the Nemesis parasite is still a mystery in its origins.

Zombies

Of course, an earlyResident Evilgame set in Raccoon City would simply not beResident Evilwithout the zombies infected with the T-Virus. After Dr. William Birkin accidentally unleashes the liquid T-Virus samples into the sewers of Raccoon City in the chronology of theResident Evil 2and3storylines, it is not long before Racooon City succumbs to hordes of zombies.

There are strong suggestions that Raccoon City’s descent into zombie-anarchy and lawlessness will be more deeply explored. More insight may be given of the transitional phase of the story and the few days of buildup leading towards the majority of the Raccoon City’s population changing from human to infected zombies.

Hunter Betas

Hunter Beta’s will be returning toResident Evil 3 Remake. Though there is a photo reveal of the creature, it does not show enough detail or angle to assess the way it looks in depth in comparison to the original. However, rumors have circulated thatHunters could have a different look inResident Evil 3 Remakefrom the original, but it may be the Hunter Y’s in which these rumors are relevant towards.

The Hunter Beta, or just Hunter B, was a Bio-Organic Weapon developed by Umbrella Europe as part of the broader Hunter group of creatures created. Hunters are genetically-engineered by gratfting reptilian DNA to fertilized human embryos which are infused with the T-Virus, the latter of which both mutates and bonds the DNA of the two species.

Hunters were created as Bio-Weapons inResident Evilwith the purpose of unleashing them into environments to kill off the remaining minorities among human populations. These were roughly 10% of humans who were naturally immune to the T-Virus, or at least the current strain of the T-Virus at the time, in the early 1980’s when the Hunters were created.

New Enemy or Hunter Y or the Grave Digger

In a recent leak ofResident Evil 3 Remakescreenshots which unveiled themselves ahead of time, a new looking monster was revealed forResident Evil 3. It appears to look similarly to a mutated frog or reptile of sorts. It may be a new enemy type, but it also may be the Grave Digger, or, more likely,Resident Evil’sHunter Gamma, known in short as Hunter Y. Given the lighting is dark, it could possibly be the Grave Digger’s head slithering out of the darkness. However, this would entail drastic design changes from the original design.

More likely, if it is not a new enemy type, then it is probably the Hunter Y. The Hunter Y is a different version of the Hunter enemy that is different from the Hunter Betas, which uses reptilian DNA bonded with human embryos. The Hunter Y is created by bonding human DNA with a fertilized amphibian egg, and applyingthe original T-Virusas the bonding agent, similarly. Hunter Ys were also created much later inResident Evil’stimeline, having been engineered in 1998, the same year as the Raccoon City outbreak.

Grave Digger

Grave Digger is confirmed to make its return forResident Evil 3 Remake, andGrave Digger was a boss inResident Evil 3. It was a notoriously gigantic worm-like creature which was accidentally created in the sewers of Raccoon City when an arthropod was exposed to large amounts of the T-Virus infection. Specifically, it was the result of the Disposal Plant P-12A’s disposing of many T-Virus test subjects from Umbrella’s underground laboratory, NEST.

Therefore, Grave Digger was not an intentionally created Bio-Weapon of Umbrella’s, but rather an accidentally created monstrosity. The disposal of subjects infected with the T-Virus led to contaminated soil underground, which infected its life, resulting in other creatures such as the Giant Spiders. There were, in fact, two different Grave Diggers in the originalResident Evil 3,including a white one in the sewers, and a brown one later on in Raccoon City’s park.

Sliding Worms

Sliding Worms are actually the offspring of Grave Diggers, and these slippery and slimy threats are confirmed to make their return toResident Evil 3 Remake. The Grave Digger lay eggs in the sewers, quickly hatching and giving birth to these foul creatures. They are about 1 meter in length, and resemble snakes without eyes. They have fangs and are capable of leaping towards the player. They are blood suckers which will attempt to latch on to their prey much like giant leeches. Should they fully live out their life-cycle, each one can potentially become a gigantic Grave Digger.

These notorious creatures are not just secluded in the sewers, but make their way to the surface as well. In the original game, they were present in the hospital and attackCarlos inResident Evil 3.

Crows (not fully confirmed)

Though it is not officially confirmed nor confirmed with one hundred percent certainty, there are some teasers, including video footage, to make the determination thatcrows could possibly be making their return toResident Evil 3Remake. Much similarly to the spiders, crows were also missing in action in theResident Evil 2 Remake.

Back in January, Capcom’s Tsuyoshi Otani, the marketing planner for theResident EvilAmbassador Program, posted a video on Twitter showing a large sum of crows flying around, in what may seemingly be a teaser video.

Giant Spiders

Giant Spiders are confirmed to be making their return toResident Evil 3 Remake.Considering thatspiders were mysteriously absent from theResident Evil 2 Remake, but were present in the originalResident Evil 2game, their inclusion inResident Evil 3will give fans their first glimpse at the contemporary recreation of these classic and infamous Resident Evil monstrosities.

Much like the Grave Differ and other creatures, these spiders are accidental creations caused by exposure to the T-Virus in Raccoon City’s sewers, where the spiders also happen to dwell.

Photo Leaks and Possible Enemies Not Fully Confirmed

Other enemies from the originalResident Evil 3game, including Brain Suckers, Drain Demos, Zombie Dogs, and even a Tyrant T-103 have not yet been confirmed. However, there is no strong reason to believe any of them would be excluded fromResident Evil 3 Remake, especially when considering thatResident Evil 2 Remakeremained fairly faithful to its original adaption.

For die-hard fans who watched the originalResident Evil 3trailer frame by frame, there are some among these fans who speculate that they can make out part of a creature that could be a Brain Sucker or Drain Demos. In reality, the footage is simply too unclear to make any conclusions about the matter.

There are also some photos that released in the same stockpile as the possible Hunter Y photos, which show possible inclusions of the Drain Demos and Brain Suckers. Again, the footage is not clear enough to confirm with full certainty, but theResident Evil 3leaked photosdo present some persuasiveness. They could also be new entirely creatures too, and one of them could be a different aesthetic design of the giant spiders instead.

Lickers may also possibly be returning inResident Evil 3 Remake, since they are present inResident Evil Resistance.Resident Evil’sLickerswere not in the originalResident Evil 3game, however. It is always a possibility we will see some exclusions, as well as new enemies, given that this transpired to a small degree inResident Evil 2 Remake.

This may also include drastically changed versions of old enemy types, given that Plant 42 inResident Evil 2 Remakewas remade entirely different from the original. In the originalResident Evil 2game, Plant 42 was more human-sized and had a humanoid appearance. In Resident Evil 2 Remake, it was a giant, yet dormant experiment. It infected zombies, making them even more deadly and hostile.

If the aforementioned monsters are included in the game, their modern rebirth should certainly be expected to deliver in fright and gruesomeness given the graphical high-note ofCapcom’sResident Evilremakes.Perhaps, at this point in time, it is best to wait just a few more weeks and enjoy the element of surprise in regards to what enemies may or may not present themselves, asResident Evil 3 Remakeunleashes itself digitally and on store shelves on April 3.

Resident Evil 3 Remakeis set to release on July 08, 2025 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
