Remedy Entertainment’s classic supernatural thriller gameAlan Wakeis getting a second lease on life thanks to the upcoming release ofAlan Wake Remastered. So far,Alan Wake Remasteredhas only been confirmed for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles, but it seems that there’s a chance that the game will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch as well.
A Brazilian ratings board has outed the existence of anAlan Wake RemasteredSwitch release, though fans should take the information with a grain of salt for now. Ratings boards have accurately leaked many video game announcements in the past, but with theAlan Wake Remasteredrelease datemerely a couple weeks away, it seems odd that the Switch version wasn’t confirmed alongside the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X versions. Then again, there could be a good reason for that.

Due to the Nintendo Switch’s lack of power compared to the other consoles on the market, more intensive games have had to release on the Cloud.Remedy’s ownControlgot a Switch Cloud release, and so it stands to reason thatAlan Wake Remasteredmay get the same treatment. If theremaster ofAlan Wakeis going to be Cloud-only on the Switch, that could one reason why it wasn’t announced alongside the other versions.
Alternatively, it’s possible that anAlan Wake RemasteredSwitch port was planned and then canceled, or maybe the announcement is being saved for a big event. Nintendo has officially confirmed aNintendo Direct for September 23, where it will focus on Switch games that are in the works for this winter.Alan Wake Remasteredis releasing on October 5, but if the Switch version does exist, it stands to reason that Nintendo could still use the Nintendo Direct to give it a spotlight.
Nintendo leaker SamusHunter, who accurately leaked the existence of the Nintendo Direct presentation, recently released a chart of games that could possibly revealed at the show. One of the games listed by SamusHunter on the chart is theAlan Wake RemasteredSwitch port. SamusHunter stressed that their chart wasn’t an outright leak of the Nintendo Direct, and so fans hoping to playAlan Wakeon the go should still keep their expectations in check.
IfAlan Wake Remasteredfor the Switch is on the way, then one has to imagine that the Nintendo Direct would be the most logical place to make the reveal. Even so, it’s best to take this kind of thing with a grain of salt and not go in expecting too much.
