It’s also home to a roster of controversial public figures, though this is not a fault that’s exclusive to the Stake-owned site. Adin Ross is one of the many personalities to find a home on Kick, and his recent stunt of claiming Kim Jong Un would be on his stream has only heightened the controversy surrounding him. Many didn’t believe it was a real thing, with what unfolded later only confirming that, but it doesn’t mean it didn’t draw in viewers.

Adin Ross’s Kim Jong Un Stream Breaks Kick Viewership Records

ThoughAdin Ross' friendship with Andrew Tatelikely played a large part in his following skyrocketing over the past year, he’s become well-known for his strange live streams. From tirades to losing a $10,000 bet to Kai Cenat, it seems that the Kim Jong Un stream, which turned out to be fake, is just the latest problematic situation he’s been involved in.

On September 20, Adin Ross' chat was left pondering a surprising Korean comment in the chat from an account named after the Supreme Leader of North Korea. When translated, the message read: “See you tomorrow.” The stream that alleged it would interview Kim Jong Un managed to shatterAdin Ross' all-time viewership records, with a peak of 333,506 people watching simultaneously. Even so, according to the Daily Loud Twitter account, the reveal that the Kim Jong Un on stream was an impersonator led to a new record for most viewers lost in a single minute during a live stream.

The impersonator has since been identified as a man who goes by Howard X. His services are usually limited to a site called Cameo, a place where people can purchase personalized videos from celebrities. Adin Ross went on to ask the man several questions, many of which were in relation to the quality of life in North Korea and how he felt about Donald Trump. As if this wasn’t already peculiar enough, the streamer later invited Andrew Tateto the call wherein Tate took the opportunity to reference North Korea’s developing missile tech.

From the onset, many would have guessed this was a bizarre stunt for numerous reasons, but that doesn’t make the whole situation much better. It’s an odd claim, followed up by an odd stream, but it seemed to work for Adin Ross. This parody of a parody, as it’s similar to the general plot ofThe Interviewwith Seth Rogen and James Franco, should be treated as such and nothing more.
