After a long delay because of the virus,Venom: Let There Carnagehas finally hit theaters. It’s a miracle it came out at all for two reasons. The first, again, is the ongoing spread of disease across the globe. The second is that the original film did not do well in reviews. Venom was saved by its box office success thus leading to a sequel. Is this a better movie?

The reviews seem to think so although it still isn’t ranked as high as any of the main MCU movies. It’s a fun ride that will inevitably lead to a third movie along with some other projects. What could those things be and where will the third movie go? There were plenty of hintsVenom: Let There Carnagedropped so let’s get into it. There will be spoilers for the film, the MCU up to this point, andMarvelVenom comics as a whole including references toeveryone’s favorite web-slinger, the ever-amazingSpider-Man.

6Was Ravencroft Holding X-Men?

At the beginning of the movie,Frances tells Cletusthat she is being moved so that she can be with more people like her. Frances’ ability is very much like a Mutant. In the comics, she is indeed a Mutant although one from the Spider-Man universe and not specifically from theX-Menseries. The facility’s name in the film is Ravencroft, which is indeed something from the comics.

Sony does not own the rights to theX-Menfranchise. That was aFoxthing. That then meansX-Menis now fully owned byDisneyas far as the movie rights go. Ravencroft then probably wasn’t some sort of underground Mutant laboratory in the film even though it would be a cool tie-in to a grander universe. Ravencroft does hold gifted criminals in the comics so there must be a reason to show it inVenom: Let There Be Carnage. No one else besides Frances looked like they had powers, but something, or someone, could come from the ruins in the sequel.

5The Timeline

There are a lot of events in the film that aren’t clearly defined by way of time. The first big gap comes into play when Venom helps Eddiediscover Cletus’ bodiesat the beach. How he does this doesn’t make a lot of sense, but apparently, this case gets Eddie back into the spotlight.

How long does his return last? Is he a star right away or does it take a while? After that, it’s unknown how long Venom and Eddie break up. Both of those events could only be days or even weeks apart. Viewers can assume it’s not any longer than that but it’s hard to say.

4Did Venom Eat Heads By Himself?

When Venom did go on his sabbatical away from Eddie, what did he do? Did he go on a rampage and start eating heads as he wanted? Venmo’s journey shows him going from body to body so viewers can assume he doesn’t. Heads make a connection to the host stronger.

As it is established in the first movie though, not everyone can be a good host for a symbiote even if they are fed well. If Venom doesn’t eat heads then why doesn’t he? The point of the movie isto show Venomchanging but he still eats a confirmed number of heads in the end so this solo journey of his remains shrouded in mystery. How many did Carnage eat to get so powerful by the way?

3What Or Who Is Detective Mulligan?

For moviegoers that don’t know anything about Venom’s or Spider-Man’s extensive comic lore, they might be confused by Detective Mulligan surviving. He not only survives being choked out by Frances but he is shown to have glowing blue eyes. This is an obvious setup for the sequel but who or what does the great detective become?

In the comics, Detective Mulligan becomes a symbiotic monster as wellknown as Toxin. He is built more muscular like Venom but has the red colors of Carnage along with some other colorful splotches. Is he going to be another villain or will his cop sensibilities take over?

2Where Was That Island Retreat?

After the fight at the church, which feels likea game scene, Venom and Eddie are able to make it out of the city. How they are able to do this is its own mystery because everyone seems to be on the lookout for them. However, their escape isn’t important.

The big question involves that beach they end up on. How did they get there exactly and where is this place? Viewers can assume it’s some tropical resort like Jamaica or the Bahamas. It’s not a real cliffhanger for the end of the movie but some fans may be curious as to where they ended up.

1The End Credits

The biggest mystery of the movie involves this beach destination vaguely. In their hotel Venom tells Eddie that he has seen many universes. Then, as he is about to divulge a secret, the settings change. At first viewers may have assumed that this was a vision Venom was showing Eddie but he seems just as confused especially by the bird-shaped towels.

Then, in a big gasp moment, J. Jonah Jameson appears onscreen as does Spider-Man from the MCU. It’s the end ofSpider-Man: Far From Home. The first question is are they in the official MCU timeline now and will they then appear in the next movie,Spider-Man: No Way Home? Also, has Venom met Spider-Man before? He licks the screen which seems to hint at some prior relationship.Could this Venomhave the memories of the Venom inSpider-Man 3?
