As the next round of pre-release multiplayer weekends gets ready to start, 343 Industries recently opened up about the first flight of theHalo Infinitemultiplayer technical preview. The studio had a lot to say but brought up something interesting regarding the high-level Spartan bots that players faced in the preview: it believes that it hyped the bots up a little too much before the first multiplayer test.

In an hour-long live stream posted to the officialHaloYouTube channel, 343 Industries showed off features that will be included in this weekend’s preview but also discussed the reception and some behind-the-scenes details regarding the first preview. Specifically mentioning the Spartan bots that were put in random matches ofHalo Infinite,Halocommunity director Brian Jarrard said that the studio may have “over-hyped” the high-level bots.

It’s safe to say that the Spartan bots didn’t make for an easy win by any means, however, they certainly weren’t as difficult as 343 Industries was making them out to be. While they definitely had much smarter A.I. compared tothe likes of the ODSTbots, the Spartans can’t hold a candle to what playing against other players is like.

It seems like following the first preview, 343 Industries has been a little bit more careful regarding how the studio is discussing the features of the upcoming preview. The live stream showcased plenty of new content making the preview seem like it’s going to bethe best look atHalo Infinitethat fans have seen so far.

Unfortunately, there’s the possibility thatthe nextHalo Infinitetest flight might be delayed. According to Jarrard’s Twitter account, 343 Industries has run into some unforeseen, last-minute issues that could potentially delay the preview. He reports that the situation is being monitored and that the studio will be able to say for certain by tomorrow morning.

If a delay ends up happening, it’s likely that fans will be massively disappointed, especially sinceflight invites have already been sent out.Halo Infinitehas already had its fair share of delays, so fan expectation is pretty high and it might not do the community well to experience another unexpected delay. That said, it’s always best to delay software if it isn’t ready to launch for the sake of a much more polished experience, so fan’s shouldn’t be too upset if it ends up happening. It seems like players should know what to expect in the next day or so.
