With E3 not happening this year, new games have been announced throughout the summer, with most of the announcements in preparation for the upcoming generation of console gaming. But don’t worry,PCfans, there was plenty to see and lots to look forward to thanks to some big announcements over the last few months.

While many of the massive game announcements this summer focused on consoles, many of those same games will be ending up on PC upon their release as well. Which one of these games announced stood out above the rest? Here are the best PC games announced this summer.
10Balan Wonderworld
Directed byYuji Nakaand being published by Square Enix,Balan Wonderworldwas buried in the Xbox pre-show but still had many people talking about it. The magical trailer showed two characters named Leo and Emma who entered the world of the clown, Balan. The 3D platformer is expected to include 12 different stories as the characters explore this magical world, which mixes imagination and reality. The game also uses costumes for the characters as power-ups, each power giving players a different way to advance through the game.
9Icarus
A free-to-play game announced during the PC Gamer Showcase,Icarusputs players in a survival environment on an alien planet. Theonline co-opgame has players needing to collect resources and explore the world while also trying to survive and avoid creatures of said planet. Players will also need to keep track of their oxygen, food and water as they try to stay alive for as long as possible. The game is created by Dean Hall, the same man behind the development of survival gameDayZ.
8Kena: Bridge Of Spirits
Shown during the PlayStation showcase in June,Kena: Bridge Of Spiritsis an action-adventure game currently being developed by EmberLab. Players control Kena, a spirit guide, with the third-person perspective. The goal of the game is to rescue creatures called the Rot, small furry companions that can help Kena on her journey.

The game uses range combat with Kena using a bow to take down the evils around her, but melee combat options are also available. The game is reminiscent of Pikmin with how the Rot follows and helps Kena.
7Star Wars: Squadron
An upcoming space combat game by EA,Star Wars: Squadrontakes place shortly after the events ofReturn of the Jedi. the main story focuses on two pilots that the player will be able to customize and control, but each of them is part ofa different organization. Whether players fight for the Galatic Empire or the New Republic, players will be able to choose from four different classes which will tailor what kind of role they will play in a combat setting. The best part is that multiplayer will allow cross-platform play.
6Hitman 3
The World Of Assassination trilogy is coming to a close in 2021.Hitman 3was announced during the Playstation showcase and not much gameplay was shown. However, it is expected to be a much darker installment than its predecessors, which may be expected ifAgent 47’s story is wrapping up. Players will be able to import their data from the previous two installments in the trilogy to help affect the final outcome of this new game. The game will once again feature six locations, likely meaning six different missions.
5Avowed
Obsidian Entertainment is coming forThe Elder Scrolls’throne. Set in the world ofPillars of Eternity,Avowedis an upcomingopen-world RPGthat is set in a fantastical world. Not much is known about the game at this time, but Obsidian has a history of creating these types of games such asThe Outer WorldsandFallout: New Vegas. The game looks to be playable in the first-person perspective with melee combat being at the forefront. It may a while before its out, but another world to explore is sure to have fans excited.
4State Of Decay 3
Speaking of open-world games, a newState Of Decaywas announced recently, The third installment of the hit zombie game has not had many details revealed for it just yet, but the trailer gave many people chills during the latest Xbox showcase.

Many have already drawn comparisons toThe Last Of Uswith the creepiness and horrifying nature of the game. Despite the praise for the trailer, no gameplay was revealed. Despite this, many people are looking forward to seeing what the next installment of the series will be like sincethe last onecame out just two years ago.
3Far Cry 6
Ubisoft’s big reveal during their first showcase this year was a newFar Crygame starring Giancarlo Esposito as the primary antagonist. The game, titledFar Cry 6, takes place on a fictional Caribbean Island ruled by a dictator who is trying to groom his son into the role. Meanwhile, the player will be taking on the role of a guerilla fighter who is part of a resistance to the regime. The gameplay will be similar to otherFar Crygames and will be coming out in February 2021.
2Resident Evil Village
The eighth game of the iconic horror franchise was announced during the Playstation showcase in June, entitledResident Evil Village, and it looks like a doozy. A direct sequel toResident Evil 7: Biohazard, players will take on the role of Ethan Winters again as he sets out to find Chris Redfield, who has turned Ethan’s life upside-down with his actions. Redfield is found in a village in Europe where Ethan finds him, but the village itself is crawling with hideous creatures that Ethan must deal with.
1Fable
The iconicFableseries is back, getting rebooted on the Xbox Series X and PC. Developed by Playground Games,Fablewill be a reboot of the popular action RPG. Not much is known about the game at this time, but the trailer showed a fairy flying around a mystical forest before being consumed by a frog. That doesn’t tell us much, but it is a cheeky way of reintroducing the series into the fans' lives. The announcement of the “new beginning” comes a decade after the last game in the trilogy came out.
