Playing games on PC can be freeing. Not having to buy a console, or several every generation is a save on cash, but that said a lot of players are missing out. Sure, no console will ever come close to the graphics possible on the most beefy of rigs and Steam is such a great way to interact with friends.

That said we decided to round up five exclusive games on the PS4 and Switch to tempt said PC gamers into caving. These ten games are true works of art that need to be played this generation no matter what the cost. With Black Friday around the corner, now is as good a time as any.

10The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild

Breath Of The Wildlaunched the Switch into stardom and remains the best game on the platform. Sure, it also launched on Wii U, but who really played it on that console? The art style, level of exploration, and the charm one would expect from a Nintendo game are second to none. Sure inventory management and weapon durability feel like they were modeled after games from two decades ago, but even small gripes like those cannot deter us from loving it.

9Marvel’s Spider-Man

TheBatman: Arkhamtrilogy proved licensed based superhero games could be good, but Insomniac’s Spider-Man went beyond fan expectations. It still continues to sell well after a year later bridging the gaps between comic, film, and video game fans of the webbed hero.

It was such a phenomenon that Sony even bought the company as a first-party developer. If that isn’t a success story then we don’t know what is. Hopefully its sequel on PS5 will come sooner rather than later.

8Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Starting withAwakening, theFire Emblemfranchise began experimenting with social networks akin to thePersonagames. Three Houses is the series’ most ambitious title yet and while all of the school stuff may bog down the core RPG gameplay, it is still a fantastic tactical experience and the best exclusive RPG the Switch has to offer. That may change whenPokémon SwordandPokémon Shield comeout, but as of right now this is a great pickup.

7Bloodborne

Sony actually has two exclusive games in theSoulsfranchise. First there was Demon’s Souls which kickstarted the whole phenomenon on PS3 and then there wasBloodborneon PS4.

We liked the beginning and theDark Soulstrilogy, butBloodborneis still the best thing FromSoftware has ever created. It is likeDark Soulsmarried into theCastlevaniafamily and actually created a 3D adventure worthy of the name. It is a gothic masterpiece that is hard to l put down.

6Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimateis unlike any video game ever created. Yes, there are other crossover games likeKingdom Heartsthat operate on a grander scale, but even with every Disney property represented, it does not come close to how much this game has. The number of video games franchises and companies inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateis unbelievable. There are even heroes from other platforms players can’t even play on Switch likePersona 5. Crossover stuff alone it is just a good fighting game for both hardcore and casual fans.

5Persona 5

Speaking ofPersona 5being inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateand from our little name drop in regard toFire Emblem: Three Houses, this is the best old school RPG exclusive on PS4.

We still feelPersona 4’scast and story is stronger, but comparing both of those games is like trying to figure out what Diamond in a pile of perfect cuts looks better. The thing that really wowed from the first trailer was the style.Persona 5is oozing with it from the music, menus, and overall design.

4Bayonetta 2

Another stylish masterpiece isBayonetta 2. Yes, it did come out on the Wii U first, but did anyone even play it there? That system was a total flop despite some stellar software. Thanks to the Switch port this bodacious beauty had a second chance to kick the snot out of both heaven and hell. Where isBayonetta 3? It seems to have hit a snag, but rest assured it will be coming and when it does it can hopefully take this game’s place.

3God Of War (2018)

For those seeking fast paced action on the scale ofBayonetta 3on PS4,God of Waris the closest match. The original games were a lot closer to the stylish action genreDevil May Crycreated, but rest assured Kratos still has a lot of punch left in him. One of the earliest fights is still one of the best things we have ever witnessed in a video game making the fight inBatman v Supermanlook like a playground squabble. Between this andMarvel’s Spider-Man, 2018 was a pretty good year for PS4 exclusives.

2Super Mario Odyssey

Going back one year, 2017 in turn was a terrific year for the Switch’s launch that kicked off withBreath of the Wildand ended withSuper Mario Odyssey. This was the best 3D Mario Game sinceSuper Mario 64and that is saying something. The creativeness and charm was just positively electrifying. On top of that the introduction of the “Capture” mechanic with Cappy was a dream to behold. Playing it reminded us of growing up with games in the 90s and we were grinning from ear to ear with every second.

1Ratchet And Clank (2016)

While none of theRatchet And Clankgames come even remotely close to the success of Mario, we think this is unjustly so. The complete remake of the first game in 2016 felt as fresh as any platformer could in that time period and remains the best in the genre for PS4. Insomniac really knows how to make a great game packed with humor, cool gadgets, and addictive RPG elements. Hopefully Spider-Man won’t take up all of their time from now on because we desperately want a sequel.
